The short version
- We collect what you type into our forms, signups and quiz, and use it to reply, to send the updates you asked for and to plan tastings, events and partnerships.
- We do not sell your details.
- Meta's ad pixel loads only if you tap Allow. If you say no, or your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, it never loads.
- Reply remove to any email from us, or write to hello@ritualofsoma.com, to be taken off our list or have your details deleted.
- Our sites are for adults 21 and over.
Who we are
SOMA is a brand of VSPR Tech Inc. ("SOMA", "we", "us"). This policy covers ritualofsoma.com, join.ritualofsoma.com and any other SOMA page that links here.
What we collect
When you visit
Like any website, our host (Vercel) receives standard request details such as your IP address, browser type and the page you asked for, and keeps them in server logs for security and reliability. We also use Vercel Web Analytics on our sites, which counts visits and which links were tapped without cookies and without identifying you.
When you fill in a form on ritualofsoma.com
- Updates signup: your email address.
- Tasting, events, press, partnership or general enquiries: your name, email and the type of enquiry, plus anything you choose to add, such as your organization, city, preferred timing and a message.
- Job applications: your name, email and the role, plus an optional link and note.
- Join the Ritual (ritualofsoma.com/discover): your email address and the fact that you agreed to receive emails from us.
- Bring SOMA to Your Space inquiries: your name, your business or venue, your email and the type of business, plus your role, how you prefer to be contacted and a message if you choose to add them. These are early conversations, not orders.
With each form we also record the IP address it was sent from, and hold it briefly in memory, to stop spam and repeated submissions.
When you arrive from an event link or QR code
Links and QR codes we hand out at events point to ritualofsoma.com/discover with a short tag in the address (for example ref=platebyplate2026, or campaign tags such as utm_source). We keep that tag in your browser's session storage for the visit, and if you sign up or send an inquiry we store it with your details so we know which event or campaign brought you. When you sign up, we also store a random id in your browser (soma_lid) and with your signup. If you then open our tasting survey, that id and the event tag travel with it as hidden fields, so we can match your survey answers to your signup without ever putting your email address in a link. The id identifies nothing on its own and is removed when you clear your browser's site data.
When you take our quiz at join.ritualofsoma.com
Your quiz answers, the details you enter (such as your first name, email and Instagram handle) and whether you ticked the box to stay on our list. We also record which steps of the quiz were reached, under a random session ID that is cleared when you close the tab, and use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies.
At events
Tasting notes we collect through a QR code at events, and the tasting survey linked from ritualofsoma.com/discover, are gathered with Typeform, which handles what you enter there under its own privacy policy.
Only if you allow ad cookies
Meta's pixel records that you visited our site and which page you viewed, and that a signup or inquiry happened on ritualofsoma.com/discover (not what you entered), along with your IP address, browser details and a Meta cookie, so we can see which of our ads bring people here. Meta uses this under its own privacy policy.
How we use it
- To reply to you and arrange tastings, events and partnerships, and to see which events and campaigns bring people to us.
- To send the updates you signed up for.
- To review job applications.
- To measure our ads, only if you allowed ad cookies.
- To keep our sites secure and working, and to meet legal obligations.
We do not use your details to make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We use a small number of services to run SOMA, and they handle your details on our behalf:
| Service | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts our sites, runs our forms and provides cookieless visit counts. |
| Resend | Delivers form submissions to our team inbox. |
| Google Workspace | Our email, where form submissions and your emails to us arrive. |
| Notion | Where we keep the signups and partner inquiries from ritualofsoma.com/discover, and track tasting requests, partner leads and follow-ups. |
| Anthropic (Claude) | AI assistant we use to help sort our inbox, track leads and draft replies. It may process messages and form submissions we receive. We do not use it to make decisions about you. |
| Typeform | Runs our tasting-note forms and the tasting survey. |
| Meta | Ad measurement, only if you allow ad cookies. |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or safety, or as part of a sale or reorganization of our business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
If you allow ad cookies, some state privacy laws treat what Meta receives as "sharing" for targeted advertising. You can say no, change your choice at any time, or send Global Privacy Control.
Cookies
| Cookie | Set by | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| soma_age | SOMA | Remembers that you confirmed you are 21 or over, so the gate does not ask again. | Until you close your browser |
| soma_consent | SOMA | Remembers your ad cookie choice. | 6 months |
| _fbp | Meta, only if you allow ad cookies | Lets Meta connect visits to our ads. | Up to 90 days |
To change your choice, open Cookies in the footer of ritualofsoma.com and tap Change my choice. Saying no stops the pixel and clears its cookie on our site. You can also clear cookies in your browser at any time.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a no to ad cookies: we do not ask, and Meta's pixel never loads.
How long we keep it
We keep form messages and quiz details for as long as we need them to follow up and keep ordinary business records, and email addresses on our update list until you unsubscribe. When you ask us to delete your details, we remove them from our inbox, list and records, except where the law requires us to keep something.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe: reply remove to any email from us. We take you off the list, usually the same day.
- See, correct or delete your details: email hello@ritualofsoma.com with the subject "Privacy request". We may ask you to confirm the request comes from your email address, and we answer within 45 days.
- Ads: say no to ad cookies, change your choice under Cookies, or use Global Privacy Control.
Some states, including California and New Jersey, give residents specific privacy rights. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
For adults 21 and over
SOMA makes an alcoholic drink, and our sites are meant only for people of legal drinking age. We do not knowingly collect details from anyone under 21. If we learn we have, we delete them. If you think someone under 21 has given us their details, please tell us.
Security
Our sites use HTTPS, form submissions reach us as plain text email (signups and inquiries from ritualofsoma.com/discover are also stored in Notion), and access is limited to the SOMA team and the services listed above. No system is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect and who can see it.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, we update this page and the date at the top.
